Recently while researching Hobie 33s, I came across a very cool little genset while reading about the Hobie 33 "Topaz".
How little you ask?
Not much bigger than a soccer ball, this low cost, home brew, weed-whacker motor married to an alternator gives twenty amps of 12-volt goodness... What's not to like?
Better yet, at only 10 pounds it makes a lot of sense as a minimal cruiser power source or as an emergency back-up charging system for bigger boats...
